Lifeline® Normal Human Prostate Epithelial Cells (HPrEC), when grown in ProstaLife^TM Medium, provide an ideal serum-free and retinoic acid-free culture system for the study of the prostate epithelium.

Prostate Epithelial Cells can be used to generate prostate organoids in three-dimensional culture conditions, to provide a normal control in prostate cancer research, to identify prostate cancer biomarketers, and to study hormonal regulation of the prostate epithelium.

Lifeline® Human Prostate Epithelial Cells are cryopreserved after being plated and expanded in culture vessels twice to ensure the highest viability and plating efficiency.

Our HPrEC are quality tested in ProstaLife^TM Medium to ensure optimal serum-free growth over a period of at least 15 population doublings at rates equal to or greater than serum-supplemented media.

Lifeline® Human Prostate Epithelial Cells are not exposed to antimicrobials or phenol red when cultured in ProstaLife^TM medium, an advantage since these supplements can cause cell stress and “masking effects” that may negatively impact experimental results.

CELL FEATURES:

• HPrEC are cryopreserved as secondary cells, e.g. cells are isolated from human prostate tissue and expanded twice in culture vessels before being harvested for crysopreservation.
